Redefine Success

Well, if there was any way to launch a record label, it was like that! Back in December last year, Imposter Records officially launched with a packed show at the wonderful Prohibition Studios, in Liverpool. Oh, did I mention that it was Corin’s first headline show?
It was always my intention to hit the ground running, when I finally committed to the idea of starting Imposter and going alone in the industry. Kicking the label off in the strongest fashion was important to me and I am happy to say that we pulled it off. Prohibition Studios, tucked away just behind Hope Street in Liverpool, is certainly a quaint but lovely venue.
With a packed room on our first try, Imposter delivered an intimate evening of fantastic music with the help of some absolutely fantastic musicians. Chrissy Mark, fresh from a show with his band ‘The Mark Makers’ kicked the evening off with a fantastic array of originals. Chrissy did a great job with the acoustic guitar and treated us to his unwavering charm and stage presence. On behalf of Imposter, I’d like to thank Chrissy for opening at our first ever show.

Prohibition Studios turned out to be the perfect venue to re-introduce Corin to the Liverpool music scene. The quaint and intimate little space, tucked away at the end (or start, depending on where you look at it) of Hope Street was packed, something I think we should all be proud of. There is a lot of work that goes into a headline show, no matter how big or small the venue.
Corin is of course the first artist to be signed to Imposter Records. For a long time I have been itching with excitement at getting her on stage. Although not her setup, playing with two guitarists as opposed to her keyboard player who is away performing on a cruise, her performance was effortless. Across two sets, we were treated to emotive music delivered with her stunning vocal range. Something I have learned from watching Corin perform is that she commands the complete attention from her audience, everybody was glued to the music being produced on the stage. Not bad for your first headline show! Everything was so masterfully done and it has made me excited for what’s next.
Well, what is next? There’s not too much I can tell you all at this moment in time, but I can assure you something behind the scenes has been cooking for a while. It will be my pleasure to fill you all in when I can, and that is sooner than you may think, so keep your eyes peeled!
